God is worthy of the struggle to grow in holiness because following Him fulfills our human nature.

Jesus teaches that happiness is not found in the things of this world. While many expect to find happiness in money, power, prestige, and pleasure, Jesus tells us that the poor, the mourner, the meek, and those who hunger and thirst for righteousness are the ones truly blessed. 

  • Why is the “Our Father” one of the most important teachings about prayer?

The Our Father is one of the most important teachings about prayer because everything we should ask from God in prayer can be found in its seven petitions. (Catechism of the Catholic Church 2803)

  • What does it mean to have dignity? What happens when we fail to see the dignity of others? 

To have dignity means to be worthy of honor or respect, to possess great value or worth. When we fail to see the dignity of others, we tend to look down on them as someone or something to be ignored or disregarded. 

  • What responsibility do we have towards the world around us?

Because we are persons made in God's image and likeness, we have a responsibility to care for all creatures and serve as stewards of creation. We do this by treating other creatures according to the value they possess. 

  • What are some ways in which we learn to love one another in the Church?

We learn to love one another in the Church through ministries, communal events, charity work, praying together, catechesis groups, etc....
