Karissa joined St. Mary Parish staff in June 2019. This year she is expanding to work with both St. Mary and St. Anthony parishes on Religious Education. While her role at both St. Mary and St. Anthony Parishes is running the Religious Education program, she untimely desires to help you and your children come to know the Lord in a deeper way.

 

Prior to working at St. Mary Parish, Karissa attended UW-Waukesha for her associate degree. She then moved to Appleton to serve on the SPIRITUS Evangelization Team for two years. SPIRITUS is similar to NET Ministries – Karissa had the opportunity to live in community with nine other young adults and serve the Parishes in the Diocese of Green Bay. While serving on SPIRITUS she led several youth retreats, bible studies and Praise and Worship for Masses, Adoration events and coordinated middle school summer camps. She also gained experience in Youth Ministry, Faith Formation, Music and Administrative work. After SPIRITUS Karissa pursed her bachelor’s degree in Theology from Silver Lake College of the Holy Family. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Theology along with a certification in Ministry from the Diocese of Green Bay. Karissa is currently working on her master’s in theology from Sacred Heart Seminary and School of Theology.

    

She loves to spend her free time playing and writing music – she plays guitar and is learning piano. Karissa also enjoys playing board games, so if anyone has a collection of board games, she is down for a game night!
